Evidence suggests that increased dietary fibre consumption may positively alter the gut bacteria and influence metabolic health. Dietary Fibre leaves your stomach undigested and ends up in your colon where it feeds friendly gut bacteria providing various health benefits.

UK Government guidelines recommend a dietary fibre intake for adults of 30g a day as part of a balanced healthy diet. However it is thought many of us are eating far less.

Foods with fibre can make us fell fuller, helping weight management and helping with digestion and preventing constipation.

Fibre rich foods include:

  • Apples & Pears with their skin on
  • Berries
  • Avocados
  • Vegetables
  • Nuts & Seeds
