About Alison Lovell

“Healthy eating is a way of life so it’s important to establish routines that are simple, realistic and ultimately liveable” – Horace

My Background

Being able to balance good nutrition with busy lives is not always easy.  I have spent over 25 years working in the financial services industry in London and know from first hand experience how hard it can be to focus on a healthy lifestyle whilst at the same time commuting, working long and often stressful hours, managing a home, a family and a social life.

At age 40, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Doctors prescribed medicine to support my thyroid, medicine which I will need for the rest of my life.  I wanted to understand why and how an under active thyroid had developed as well as learn how I could take control of my life to help manage my symptoms.

After researching how best to do this, I went back to school (College of Naturopathic Medicine in London) to retrain and qualify as a Naturopathic Nutritionist. Working with evidence based research, I have changed how I think about the food my family and I consume – from how it is sourced, to its preparation and even the pans I use to cook with.   I now maximise my health through nutrition and lifestyle and aim to minimise the risk of other health issues arising.

Life is constantly changing and as I have aged,  I have been able to use my training and skills to re-balance my nutrition to support the symptoms and changes that the perimenopause brings.  Through Alison Lovell Nutrition, it is my goal to use my knowledge and experience to help others optimise their own health and lifestyle.
